Had general anesthetic on fri morning and feeling worse each day

Just worried as i feel so weak
I had a general on fri morn as i had arthroscopic irrigation on my TMJ(jaw) joint.
I am so tired and weak and when i took some painkillers earlier i suddenly felt even worse and drunk and could hardly move.

What painkillers are you on ?

It'll be the pain killers. Are you on codiene?

Codiene wipes me off the planet. Try taking some ibuprofen and some paracetamol, you should be able to take 1g of paracetamol (check on the packet though). Pop and see your GP for something else if this doesn't work, alternate paracetamol and ibuprofen, like you do when your child has a fever.

It is probably the side effects of one of the very short-acting muscle relaxants used for this operation. It should pass off in a day or two.

Not a problem. I hope you are feeling better soon. Check your temperature though, just to see if you have an infection. It's very likely to be the codiene though, whenever I take it all I can do is lie down and watch the world spin around me, it's horrid.

I ended up at the GP's earlier as i feel so weak and ill.My legs are so weak i can hardly walk She thinks i have an infection.

I am still feeling very weak and fluey and
getting fed up of being cooped up in bed
I cant understand why i am not improving and i'm feeling frustrated because i haven't been able to take my girls out like we had planned.We haven't had a holiday so this week was our chance to take them out.

If you have an infection then all of your energy is going on fighting it. It'll take a few days of antibotics for you to start to see a difference.
