Discontinuing Arimidex

Hi, I am new to all this but need some help.

I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in Oct 2005, had lumpectomy and then radiotherapy. From Feb 2006 I took Tamoxifen for 2 and a half years and then Arimidex which I am still on. (I have had a horrendous time on Arimidex) but am due to come off it in Feb 2011. I can find no information on what to expect. I see that many women discontinue the drug due to the horrendous side effects, but nothing on discontinuance after completing the prescribed course.

I have developed shortness of breath which my GP has decided is asthma. I am not really convinced. One site I read listed shortness of breath as a side effect of Arimidex, but most don't list this as a known side effect. Has anyone else developed shortness of breath whilst on Arimidex? Did the side effects disappear once off this drug?
