could this be ibs?

Hi all im after a bit of advice please before i make a drs appointment.

Since having my ds 4yrs old now ive suffered with intermitent constipation, i put this down to medication on i was on.

The last few weeks it has got a lot worse i have been in pain where i have been so constipated. Some times ive goe 6 days with out a bm.

Also ive been feeling sick and tired.

When i eat something i get a pain in my left hand side sometimes and a really grumbling stomach. I also seem to get a lot of wind after a meal sorry if thats tmi.

Any information on wether it could be ibs, or if anyones got any ideas what it might be before i make a totally idiot of myself contacting dr for no reason.

I suffer from the opposite effect to you (I can be on the toilet 6 to 8 times a day) but all over symptoms are the same, even down to the pain in my left hand side.

I've recently had a colonoscopy to rule out crohns which runs in my family. Although I haven't yet been to the follow up appointment the report I was given says that consistant with IBS. I know other sufferers who get constipation.

I don't think you would be making an idiot of yourself to go to the drs at all.
