Hi just wondering if you can or not, I haave got 3 children, so should know the signs by now, but feel really confused as i thought it was one of the better contraception. I can feel movement in my stomach and even seen my belly move as if the baby is kicking, but as i speak i am on my period.

Any advice would be great as feeling very confused.

thanks you

I think it's very very unlikely, though there is a tiny possibility. It's meant to be as safe as sterilisation.

You know you are going to have to go a test don't you?

DO a test Blush

actonchildminder · 16/08/2010 21:53

wouldn't the test just come negative anyway coz of hormones?

Mmm, not sure. i think I'd still do one anyway.

Or call NHS Direct? They should know.

Hope you get the outcome you want Smile

I knew someone who did, right before she was due to get another one fitted.

I have heard they are less effective when they are about to be changed.

A test would give a correct result unless you are really very pregnant. HCG drops after the 16th week but I'm not sure how late in pregnancy you no longer get a positive. A midwife/GP could tell from a vaganial exam, the vagina takes on a blueish tinge during pregnancy.

No contraception is 100%, you really do need do test and to see yor GP even if it's negative.

Good luck.

done a test and came back negative, will make an appointment at the docs
