DS has a lump in willy

...he's been complaining of his willy hurting for about 3 days now, but only when he touches it.

When he was in the shower tonight, I noticed that it hangs wrong, and there appears to be what would be half a pea-shaped lump half way down on one side, making it stick out at a slightly odd angle.

I am worried that if I take him to the walk-in centre he will not want to show it to anyone - he is 8.

Any ideas what it could be and if I should be worried please? Also any ideas on how I can get him to show it to the nurse?

Thanks

Not sure how you can persuade him to show the nurse, but i would imagine the nurse will know the right things to say.

Yes, i'm sure she'll be ok, although he didn't want to even show it to his dad til I reminded him that dad has one too.

Any ideas as to what it could be?

I'll ask him in the morning if he would be more comfortable with a male or female nurse.

Was just thinking that when he goes for a wee, i've noticed he pinches the side of his foreskin between his finger and thumb - I wonder if this is what the lump is?

i think its DEFINITELY worth a trip to see a Dr.

you need to explain to him before that the Dr will help him get better, and that he must show the Dr, who sees willys all the time.

Thanks for your replies. The lump seems barely noticeable this morning - and after a very bad sleep with worry, I think that it is to do with how he holds it when he wees - he does actually pinch it quite hard..on that side.

Will get his dad to show him what to do properly this afternoon.
