Mefenamic acid

Does anyone take mefenamic acid for period pain? It's been prescribed for me, as I used to take diclofenac but that's no longer best practice. I've been given them in a little pharmacist's jar, so know about the dosage but there's no advice sheet. Should I be aware of any side-effects?

DD sometimes takes it, but she has inevitably lost the advice sheet, and she's at a festival this weekend, so I can't ask her, but I don't think she's experienced any problems. This page describes possible side effects.

I was given this with Tranaxamic Acid to help with my period. The pair of them were meant to help reduce the pain by reducing the amount of flow and clots; didn;t work though.

Of the Mefanamic Acid, I take 1x500mg three times a day with or after food.
There is quite a list of minor side-effects; allergic reaction (swelling), blistering or flaking of the skin. Then gastro-intestinal, water retention, tiredness etc.

I would go back to the pharmacist if I were you and ask for a leaflet

Thanks, both, I think I will. It seemed odd - I haven't been prescribed anything for years that's come without the advice sheet.
