Kidney Stones, causes, solutions ?

for several years, approximately every 6 mths, I get a terrible pain in my right side. After being told it was indigestion, I used to try to treat it with antiacids.

However, about a year ago, after horrific pain & vomiting about 2am in the morning, I found out it was a kidney stones.

The dr has sent me for a CT scan, which showed nothing (because I had already passed the stone ?). The pain I am experiencing is the pain of the stone(s) moving out of the kidney into the tube to travel to my bladder. So far, I have had no pain weeing, although traces of blood have been detected in a wee test.

I'm getting a low pain in the right kidney now, most of the day & am having to use painkillers. I'm also on holiday, so can't get to the drs.

Has anyone suffered from this & if so, can you suggest any thing that may help ?

All I can think of, is that something is causing the stones to form & I have no idea what. The dr has suggested sieving my wee to find a stone, so it can be examined, but I've been unable to obtain one (used a tea strainer Blush

Any insight into this would be fantastic.
