My ds1 age 5 has had chicken pox and got a temperature for 2 days before the spots came out and then the temperature went away. My ds2 has now got chicken pox and didn't have a temperature before the spots but after 2 really bad nights of discomfort has a temperature this morning. Should I be worried that this might be a complication or is it normal for them to get a temperature at different times.

3 of my children had CP one after the other, and in each cases it varied. One had terrible, terrible spots but wasn't poorly, one was poorly but spots weren't as bad, and the third was barely affected.

Unless the temperature isn't controllable with calpol/nurofen and lasts more than 24 hours, then I think its ok, but if you are worried try to get a telephone consultation from your GP to put your mind at rest.

Hope they are OK

CP can present very differently, even in full siblings. Nothing that you've said would worry me (had 5 cases in our household).

cp doesn't affect each child the same. we had dd who was iller, but less spots, ds who was covered in spots, but totally fine, not ill at all, despite only being 7 weeks old at the time!
