pubic lump/bump

have namechanged for this sorry!
yesterday I discovered a lump/bump in my pubic region. its red and about size of a 5p. it hurts in centre if pressed. Haven't shaved or used immac there in over a month. split up with lying, cheating ex the same time.
there is just the one. it is smooth not rough and redder/angrier than other skin. only hurts if touched.
am worried, scared and embarrassed-any suggestions please?

can you be a bit more specific on the whereabouts of the lump?

in middle of pubic area not on genitals. in middle of pubic hair. it's on pubic bone.

could it be an inflamed/in grown hair folicle? (sp?)

Folliculitis develops from clothes rubbing on the hair/shaving and causes hairs to grow inwards. Googles for loads of info.

could be a cyst.
