Oilatum alternative?

DD (8 months) has fairly mild excema and the HV advised Oilatum bath stuff and cream. But DD drinks loads of the bath water and I am not mad keen on the idea of her drinking liquid paraffin... Is there any more natural equivalent? HV said that water-based creams and bath additives are a waste of time...

Thanks!

Yes, Aveeno. It's fab. You can get it on prescription from your GP. We tried loads of creams, including Oilatum, before trying Aveeno at a friend's suggestion.

Boots sell it so you could always buy a bottle of their Aveeno oil to use in the bath and see how you get on. It's made from oats so if your DD drinks loads of bath water, as my DD does, it's not going to do her much harm.

As an aside, I also found that by combining the Aveeno oil with the Aveeno moisturiser it keeps on top of DD's mild excema. There are times when we have to use something stronger but they are not nearly as frequent as they used to be.

Hope that helps.
