Clicky jaw

Does anyone else have a jaw which seems to slip in and out of the socket? Sometimes it's painful to chew/use any pressure, and sometimes it sort of 'locks' so I can't open my mouth fully. I can go months without any problems, and then suddenly it'll go again and it's bloody sore. Worth going to the doc's, do you think? I've had it on and off since I was about 14.

I'd go to the dentist ( tell the receptionist you have a problem with your TMJ (temporomandibular joint) and you can't eat properly so no you can't wait weeks for an appointment.....

You may need wisdom teeth removing!

I have this and it's bloody annoying - my dentist says that the only cure is to have part of my left jaw joint shaved off, so I'm not about to do that unless it gets a lot worse. The noise it makes when I open my mouth wide is like a cement mixer.

TMJ problem

I suffer with this intermitently

Annoying, isn't it

Mine tends to go away after a few weeks

Yes, definitely comes and goes. Most irritating. Don't have any wisdom teeth, and I don't grind my teeth either. Gah, looks like I just have to anaethetise myself with wine

Yes I have this too. i had a bite-guard to wear at night to stop me grinding my teeth, and then some bits ground off my teeth (by posh dentist) to stop them locking together. Cost fortune. Then had 3 teeth out too. Made no difference at all. So I've just learned to live with it - it's def worse when you think about it! Just take some ibuprofen and massage it gently.
