Ok vile post so apologies first. You know how hugely fat people (I mean 30 stone + brigade) get sores between the folds of their fat? Well I am horrified. I am a size 20 ? I hold it well except overhang from big tummy that never seems to have recovered from csections (and copious amounts of eating since).

I just felt a funny twinge annd touched my very low tummy and looking under it I have a sore going nearly the whole way across my cs scar? It is red, sweaty and it really smells! I have only just noticed it. I am so disgusted.

What do I do to treat? Just wash and apply what? Keep it dry or moisturised? Shall I see a doctor to see if infected ? I don?t think it is but I am definitely feeling ?pulling type? pain. My youngest is 2 ½ years so this is not a recent scar but my goodness.

Talk about a kick to lose some weight. The only down side being even if I lost lots my tummy has basically collapsed and I would need some surgery I think to ever get it back to acceptable. I am so ashamed.

Hi there,

Personally, I would go and soak in a cool bath and make sure it is cleaned well - no soaps though, just water. Then pat the area dry thoroughly and leave it exposed to the air and see how it is in the morning. If it smells horrible again you may need some antiseptic spray or something to stop the infection. You may be able to get some spray from a chemist.

Hope its better in the morning.
