'kicking' sensation in my tummy and I'm not pregnant!

Just wondering if anyone else has ever experienced this, thinking I might go to my GP. For the past 3 weeks or so I've been getting these really strange sensations in my tummy. If I didn't know better I'd say I was pregnant (which I am not)It's exactly the same movements I felt when pregnant. Sometimes it's the little fluttery bubbley type feelping, othertimes it is a proper kick. What can this be? Anyone else had this or am I completely crazy?

No, you're not mad, I've felt this, too, when I've known I'm definately not pregnant. I think there was a conversation along the same lines a while ago. Someone suggested that it could be wind, and the fact that once you've been pregnant, it's a feeling that you recognise, whereas before, you wouldn't have done. Does that make sense? It did when someone else said it

I've had this and my explanation is more or less the same as emsiewill's.

I've had it too! I've always assumed its because my tummy muscles are shot to pieces and strain more easily - the feeling is like a twitch.

yes, me too
I had a c section - don't know if that makes a difference?

Nice to know I'm not alone!

Most people I know have experienced this at one time or another. My mum still gets them around my birthday - 26 years later!!

I also have this and I think there is a blood vessal that runs down through your tummy and what you can feel it the blood pumping through.

i get this too and it's definitely wind, but it does feel just like baby kicking doesnt it?!

Holly02 · 26/07/2003 01:26

Boy this is really common. I get it too, and it really does feel similar to a baby kicking. It has definitely had me worried a few times!

I'm very relieved to know that it's not just me.

wobblymum · 26/07/2003 12:56

Wow - I thought it was just me! I had a baby nearly 5 weeks ago and for the last 2 weeks I've been getting that feeling on and off. Obviously I'm not pregnant but it was starting to worry me about what it was! Glad other people get it too!

Wonder why?
