Poorly Fanjo -TMI alert!

I've namechanged for this OBVIOUSLY.
My fave GP is on holiday and though I myself preach not to be embarassed re visiting the doctor I am mortified.
I have an appointment booked for Friday morning.
Okay, TMI coming up.
My fanjo smells very musky and even after washing it still smells though less.
I have 3 children and noticed my odour changed after baby number 1 was born.
I suffer bouts of thrust maybe 4 or more times a year.
Most recently after having sex with DH my fanjo burned like crazy. Every opportunity at home I remove my underwear as fanjo feels unbearably itchey or dry.
Sometimes there's discharge, sometimes not.
My clitoris feels particularly sore and I've noticed that the hood is split, not weeping or bleeding though.
The discomfort eased for a couple of days.
This is going to sound strange but last night I had 2 chocolate biscuits and instantly my fanjo felt dry, its so hard to describe, but it made me squirm, I couldn't stand it.
Everything I'm describing is extertanally by the way.
Also, last night I've started bleeding though I'm not due on for another 2 weeks.
Today I've notice a blister on my inner labia and a crack where the labia joins the rest of my fanjo, its absolutely killing.
I've been looking online for preventative measures for thrush and one is to avoid sugar so that could explain last nights episode.
The alternative GP is so poker faced and makes little to no conversation, I just cannot sit there and explain with an examination to follow and if I continue bleeding she cannot take any samples anyway, but my fave GP is away for 3 weeks so cannot wait that long.
Do any of you have a similar experiences or might know what's wrong with me?

I recall having that musky scent too and thought I'd caught something. Can't remember the outcome tbh as it was over 20 years ago, but I have had PID which was left untreated as I was married and exh was not entirely 'honest'...I knew nothing about the PID until I was sent for an exploratory to see why I was not falling pg.

The blister sounds worrying to me. I'd be inclined to go to a local GUM clinic and be seen there. At least they'll be used to dealing with lots of different problems and I expect they'll still be able to examine the blister and tear even with the unexpected bleed.

Possible causes:
imblance of hormones making you dry- maybe you need an oestrogen cream to help.
Vaginal infection such as bacteriosis
STI- any chance?
Thrush- most likely- have you dosed yourself with an Canestan or Diflucan oral tablet?
Are you over-washing and destroying natural good bacterial levels? This will make thrush worse.
Are you using soap or bubble bath,or shower gel etc "down there"?

How did your appt go?

purplepeony · 24/07/2010 16:28

well after all that you haven't told us how you got on!

Fanjohurts · 26/07/2010 23:04

Sorry purplepeony. I chickened out of going to the GP but instead a Sexual Health Clinic.
Anyway, they examined me and said the tears were synonymus with thrush, they're called fissures and the blister I had the day before they could see no sign of, which was good.
They've taken a smear sample and are testing for thrush and bacterial vaginosis, which apparently could account for the odour.
I was also advised that using soap can ultimately create a strange odour as it upsets the PH balance of your vagina. I've gotta say since Friday I've been using just water and I do smell better but still got a new tear, its a bit like a paper cut.
The meds (pessary and cream)were free!
I'll have my results in a fortnight.

Christ, the shite that women have to go through. If it were a man, you'd have the results within an hour, be signed off work, given the Queeen's pardon and put in a five star hotel for a fortnight.

Sorry, it's clearly time for bed for me but I hope you feel better soon.
