Stomach pains after eating

The other day we'd been out for lunch so by dinner time I still wasn't hungry so I just had a couple of ginger biscuits with a cup of tea instead. About 20 minutes later I had the most horrible pain in my stomch (just below the breastbone) which began to creep into my sides and into my back. I was walking around tesco and I ended up crouched on the floor the pain was so bad. I had a sweat going on too at the same time. The pain lasted well over an hour until I took some co-cordimols. Since then I have had the odd stab in the stomach here and there but today, I'd just had a cheese sandwich and its coming on again.

What could be causing it??

It sounds either like very severe indigestion or it could be a stomach bug. Try to avoid fatty/rich foods like cheese and stick to plain fluids for 24 hours. Then ease yourself back in to real food with very plain things like dry toast.

Gall bladder problems or a duodenal ulcer I would say.

Similar to what I have been experiencing lately. Have you had pain in the shoulder-blades or under the right rib? I am due to get checked out for gallstones next Weds.
