dd had her appointment today, they did a x-ray and said everything looks ok for the time being, any change in the foot at all, i have got the consultants direct number and they will start agressive antibiotics, its still there but lying dormant for now,

said the cause can be a cut in the foot (infection gets in through blood) i asked if it was the canular...he said highly possible so it WAS down to them, he also said it can lie dormant, can sit for 60 yrs, just flaring up now and again

LIZS...her MRI scan showed a bone infection

OP posts:
lilsmum · 23/08/2005 19:45

forgot to add, it does look like in march it was a acute bone infection, which now because it wasnt treated properly has gone to a chronic.

I'm sorry it wasn't better news. . Is Lil still suffering with it, can she walk properly now ? You have really gone through it.

If the consultant has admitted the canular could have caused it will you take the complaint further ?

misdee · 23/08/2005 20:02

at least its dorment atm, have they told what to look out for when/if it does flare again? poor little lil.

lilsmum · 23/08/2005 20:02

LIZS...she can walk on it now, but does have a slight limp when tired, and it turns out slightly.

i should take it further (have already sent a offical complaint to the hospital) just dont know if i have the energy to take it further still.

misdee...just to watch for redness and swelling i think, and obviously if she fails to weight bear.

Sorry it wasn't brilliant news lilsmum

Glad he admitted that the cannula could have been the cause though.
