Considering I have post birth bowel issues my darling 12 day old little boy has a different trouble, terrible trapped wind he has real trouble burping. Brings his knees up, goes quite stiff, lifts his legs up. He will cry out randomly too an hour or so after a feed. Patting his back and Sucking his dummy and lying on my chest will soothe him. This is his favourite position anyhow. We are on full dose infacol using anticolic bottles with valve. Swirling bottles not shaking them. Oh help please! I dont know what else to do. We try lots of different winding positions too. We are a right pair!

Babies seem to suffer from a variety of tummy symptoms which are often put down to wind or colic although there is little evidence that Wind is the cause or that colic treatments work. Babies respond very well to calmness on the part of the Mum and anxiety tends to make them cry more. You don't have to feel calm inside, you just have to act calm! More important is persistent vomiting which needs medical attention. If your little boy is taking feeds well, keeping them down and having bowel actions, there's not much to worry about. You can't solve all baby symptoms! Good luck!
