Male Hernia operation recovery time?????

Hi DP has to have a hernia repair operation in sept and we are booked to go abroad 4 weeks later, Has anyones dp's or dh's or you had this and do you think he will be ok for going or should we change?? we have 2 small dc's so will have pram and 2 suitcases plus hand luggage so im just not gonna be able to do all lifting/carrying on my own.

Hi there, my DH had this done and he went back to work 2 days later! But I would not advise this as DH is a freak who is never ill, and can't stand being bed/housebound. I think he should be absolutely fine as long as there are no complications. The only thing I would say is that obviously if you have heavy suitcases that it wouldn't be advisable for him to lift them. Perhaps you could get a trolley? It might be best to discuss this with the surgeon or GP.

well yeah dp is a workaholic too so im sure he will be the same, im just panicking i think!!! thanks
