Peter had a pretty rough night last night and was sick a few times. nothing major, just being sick. Doc who did the rounds this morning said to take it easy. apparently one of the nurses said peter was being lazy and should be up and about today. she also said that there were other people seriously ill there. FFS, its a transplant unit, of course there are sick people there!!

OMG .. who did she say that to? are you going to complain?

maybe she was trying to be jolly in an old british matron sort of way??

If she says it again, tell Peter to get up and about - but to make sure she's within 'range' when he's sick - perhaps if he throws up over her she might get the message.

misdee · 20/08/2005 22:27

his mum made him do a short walk when she was at the station saying to the other nurses that he was lazy

QofQ

Chandra · 20/08/2005 22:30

I believe the opinion of such inconsiderate nurse don't deserve any extra effort from Peter. Let her say what she wants, Peter can still throw up over her when she gets near the bed. HTH

Chandra · 20/08/2005 22:31

that was in continuation of QoQ's post

misdee · 20/08/2005 22:32

I mean, what a stupid thing to say to someone who has an articial heart, that there are some very sick people there. Confused

oh you're just showing of Chandra - becuase my brain doesn't come up with such good ideas as yours

Chandra · 20/08/2005 22:33

Very stupid IMO, as a nurse she should have know better.

misdee · 20/08/2005 22:34

peter says she is always like it. if she is a weekend nurse then i probably havent seen her, he has some lovely nurses in during the week.

Speak to the nursing manager - I don't think comment like that said in earshot of patients and their family is acceptable.

misdee · 20/08/2005 22:35

i'll see if Peter wants anything done about it. its up to him, like i say i wasnt there, his mum was.

Just feeling useless again. and angry.

QueenOfQuotes · 20/08/2005 22:53

misdee- you have every right to be angry - I'd be livid if it was my DH.

BUT you're NOT useless - you're doing a fantastic job, you can't be with him everyday, and I'm sure he understands that too.

Twiglett · 20/08/2005 22:55

speak to the nursing manager anyway .. Peter doesn't have to know
