cellulitis , antbiotics ,how to avoid ensuing diarrohea

Last time 90 year old mother had cellulitis the antibiotics gave her truly dreadful diarrohea.
As she's not fully mobile from recent hip replacement ( and I'm already clearing up after the ocassional episode - which she's not even ready to admit to ) I'm looking for tips as to how to avoid /minimise this side effect .
Also does anyone know at what stage IV antibiotics are recommended for cellulitis ?
And in passing - v.upset that despite pointing out the area ( to District Nursing Team who are visiting daily ) and voicing my fears that cellulitis was developing it's been ignored until today .
Equally angry with self for not being more assertive .
Any advice gratefully received .

The refrigerated probiotics by Biocare. Take one 3 x daily before food then the antibiotic to follow. Works wonders for me.
