coil and carpel tunnel

my friend had a coil fitted in october and then developed several symptoms including carpal tunnel. now had her coil removed after they suggested surgery and surprise, surprise no more carpal tunnel! has this happened to you?

I had a coil fitted this time last year, its the non-hormonal one, I havnt had any problems at all.
If thats a side effect it must be a very rare one, has she tried trying the non-hormonal one if it was hormonal or vise-versa?
