allergic to waterproof plasters

i've just had surgery on my hip and collar bone, they've put waterproof plasters on, however both areas are stinging where the plasters are, almost tingling like sunburn, is this as a result of healing from surgery or am i allergic to plasters..??
please help..!!

Quite possibly the plasters - DS is floridly allergic to some types.

Ring the ward you were on and ask for advice - the dressings will need changing
