Just that really! There is so, so much saying it’s only between Tory and Labour that I fear it’s a self fulfilling prophecy.

There are some of us out there who think differently!

No idea if we have a local lib Dems candidate....not seen any sign of them. Shame really cos we could do with a bit of competition from the Muppets 😁

TizerorFizz · 26/06/2024 23:28

Other countries have partial insurance schemes. It’s not solely government money. Why don’t think Australia has higher salaries for health workers? Most countries don’t look at the nhs and want to replicate it.

MrsSkylerWhite · 26/06/2024 23:29

Good for you. I’m not.

Isn't Jeremic's seat in True Blue Surrey? I think the constituency boundary has changed but would that mean it is no longer a given that it will no longer be won by a Tory?

The Lib Dems definitely have a chance here in Godalming. I don't know about the "and Ash" part.

Guildford too. Henley, Winchester, Esher, Wokingham, Woking, Bracknell. Surrey Heath, Epsom. And Farnham and Bordon

I think Labour are campaigning hard in Hendon, Swindon, Aldershot, Basingstoke Croydon, Crawley, Bracknell and the IOW.

The "blue wall" could have bloody great lumps kicked out of it byJy 5th.

You can look it up on the tactical voting websites or the bbc

Velicirapitor · 26/06/2024 23:35

Lib Dems don’t know that women can’t have a penis. So it’s a NO from me.

Nevertheless some of the deterioration in the NHS since 2010 will be laid at Jeremy Hunt's door.

It's why he's campaigning in a new constituency this time since the state of the NHS nearly finished him in Farnham in 2019.

I’m voting lib dem

So who are you going to vote for?

shellyleppard · 27/06/2024 02:49

@verdantverdure thanks i found our local candidate. Never heard of them lol

TheaBrandt · 27/06/2024 02:54

We are Tory v Lib Dem seat labour a wasted vote.

Really struggling with Lib Dem’s anti women stance so don’t know who to vote for.

LizzieW1969 · 26/06/2024 18:47

I agree, that’s how I view it too. I did a ‘vote for policies’ survey, and it went Lib Dem by some distance. But I really don’t like their stance on gender ID at all.

Anyway, where I live, the only party to vote for to keep the Tories out is Labour, so I’ll be voting for them.

Exactly the same here. I
want to vote for them as I like many of their policies but I really don’t trust them on the gender issue

Alexahelp · 27/06/2024 07:56

Lib Dems are liberal socially, that’s their thing. That’s why you have an ex party leader who was a Christian and got a lot of heat for his gay marriage stance but a progressive gender policy. They’re meant to allow for all opinions.

Would quite like to be voting LibDem but they’re a strong third here and probably risk the Tories sneaking in, so it will be Labour.

This is the. It that baffles me- they are meant to allow for opinions. Except on one issue- if you don't toe the party line on pretending men can be women you aren't welcome. But otherwise a very open and tolerant party with a broad church of views Hmm

Kendodd · 27/06/2024 08:05

Me too.
A tactical vote to get the Tories out.

Velicirapitor · 27/06/2024 09:06

verdantverdure · 26/06/2024 23:45

So who are you going to vote for?

Fuck knows.

itsnotabouthepasta · 27/06/2024 09:53

My turmoil lies in the fact that I've historically been a lib dem supporter but I can't agree with them on this. Its' a fundamental difference.

However, locally, our lib dem local councillor has been excellent. The lib dem MP candidate has campaigned heavily on what he plans to do for the area, rather than party politics - so I feel that this guy would be the ideal candidate for us as a local MP

so I'm now coming down to a local vs national vote debate in my head.

VoteLabour · 27/06/2024 11:20

@itsnotabouthepasta , I've said this several times, but vote for the one who'll be the best MP for your constituency.

You can voice your concerns about single issues or things that affect you, your family, or your area to your MP.

TheaBrandt · 27/06/2024 11:26

It’snot in exactly the same situation as you.

I think this is the tact I'll take.

I personally think the gender recognition element is almost a red herring. While I completely disagree with it, I actually think to pass any legislation will be incredibly difficult to get through the house of commons and then the house of lords - thats all I can hold on to!

VoteLabour · 27/06/2024 13:06

Mine too. If you do feel strongly about something you could contact an MP who is not your own, but your local MP is your first port of call.

It's fairly obvious who I'm voting for, but the optimism of the New Labour campaign just isn't around this time.

At least it's not a choice of Corbyn or Johnson this time, and while neither is perfect, Sunak and Starmer seem quite decent.

I hope it would be too difficult to get through both Houses.
There are single-sex spaces where the presence of someone who identifies as a woman but has male sexual organs, or has had them through puberty, can be unfair, disrespectful, threatening or dangerous.

PlantDoctor · 24/06/2024 19:50

I think they lost a LOT of support after the shambles in 2010.

Yes, I agree but I am also voting for them again this year.

VoteLabour · 27/06/2024 13:26

Tim Farron was on Farming Today this morning. He comes across as a good constituency MP. He'd get my vote if I lived there.

MotherofPearl · 27/06/2024 13:26

The thing I like about the LDs is that they have always been pro-EU. I'd vote for a party campaigning to rejoin the customs union and the single market - though fully rejoining the EU is my dream.

TomatoSandwiches · 27/06/2024 13:29

Helen Belcher? No thank you.
