The Tories manifesto - nothing new

DistinguishedSocialCommentator · 11/06/2024 12:25

As you'd expect from almost any polictian/s in the world, total and utter BS!!

I would ask them, what's new and what were you doing at number 10 for the last 15 years!!!

Sadly, pathetic as it is, the alternative is even more seriously hideous and will put the workers at a massive risk of higher taxes, homeowners lumbered with massive, green agenda taxes and VAT on your child if you want them to do really well at school via private education that many make many sacrifices to send their kids to a better school for a better future!!

Key points from Tory party manifesto from tax cuts and new GPs to Rwanda

Rishi Sunak unveiled the Conservatives' offer to the public this morning, covering tax cuts and a boost to GPs.

He really isn't. I get that he's really very good at turning our tax money into his family money, but beyond that, no.

Eat Out To Help Out was monumentally stupid.
Committing to the Rwanda Plan was monumentally stupid.
Leaving the D-day commemoration early was monumentally stupid.
Not knowing how to put petrol in a car or how to make a card payment is very stupid. Not learning how to do these things before pretending to, in front of the press, was monumentally stupid.

He has no political nous or any commonsense. When he can't buy an instant solution he is a monumentally stupid man.

Yes and the stupid tiktok video he did when he was first elected - it was so cringey I could barely watch - 'follow me here online as I go around the country talking about levelling up . . .'
His live online 'tour' didn't last long as the police had to look into the non-wearing of the seatbelt. What a total bell end.

Did he get fined for that?

"Also the UK population has grown increased by 10 % since 2010."

And as a result of this we have higher tax revenues, so why are public services so much worse than in 2010?

The 10% growth is I heard, 7% dependents. FYI, I've not had the chance to fact check these figures!!!

Is it very important for you to blame immigrants for the current truly terrible state of public services after 14 years of Conservative government?

Probably because that 10% growth in population is not a growth in net contributors. Tax revenues may be up but every extra person puts an additional strain on local services.

I haven't read it myself but I thought the cover was nice and I made a start on colouring in all the 'O's whilst waiting for my afternoon cup of tea and biscuit, (but then got interrupted ☹️).

🤣

Interesting to note, no photos of the PM.

1dayatatime · 12/06/2024 08:51

@izimbra

"And as a result of this we have higher tax revenues"

That would depend on whether the 10% increase in UK population since 2010 comprised of net tax contributors or net tax beneficiaries.

Please stop being deliberately obtuse

I was just quoting figures I heard, bud but you know that
We are "immigrants" and thanks to my parent's hard work and then ours we have all paid a mass of taxes and never lived in social housing etc therefore freeing up soc housing and benefits for those that require them, fact!

The figures others posted and I broke down shows that certain types of immigration can burden local services etc, understand!!

HTH

Please go out and start repairing the irreversible damage that woman/Truss did to England in the couple of weeks she was in office. Thank you

FYI, I was a Tory voted but because of Truss and your assistance to make so-called BReakins News broadcasts about promises on the Rawanda flights that you have not keep, my family and I will not be voting for you.

FYI, we will not be voting for your socialist opposition either!!

Definitely, I'm sure it will help but I'm not convinced it will make that much of a dent. A large proportion of empty properties are in places which are already very cheap compared to the rest of the UK because nobody wants to live there.

I'd be also in favour of putting higher taxes on higher value and larger homes beyond the current council tax which might drive people to downsize and the cost of family properties down.

But really as I say, regardless of what we do, we don't have enough good quality homes in this Country.

Edited

Yes, because there are a huge numbers of smaller places available. 🤡

if ‘lower income population have grown’ they do not pay much taxes but use the same services.

1dayatatime · 12/06/2024 11:35

The UK population has increased by 5.3 million since 2010. The number of people paying income tax has increased by 4.5 million since 2010, mostly at basic rate. However a large part of this increase is due to fiscal drag on tax thresholds.

I have been unable to find any data on what proportion of migrants are or are not tax payers.

"if ‘lower income population have grown’ they do not pay much taxes but use the same services."

Well - we have more pensioners.

You know - those people who got their university education for free, who had access to social housing & affordable homes in the private sector, 70% of whom are overweight and are now bankrupting the NHS with their complex health needs.

65% of whom are Tory voters.

Immigrants coming to the UK on work visas are not only paying tax, but are also expected to pay an NHS surcharge.

The only exceptions to this would be asylum seekers who as primarily 'young men of fighting age' (as Reform voters would have it) are hardly going to be heavy users of NHS services. They're also given a pittance to live on and banned from working while their case is being heard.

Who will you be voting for? Reform? 🤨

As you all know parties manifestos are just for show and are pretty meaningless, once in government they don’t actually have to do any of it

Sadly, many of the easily led still fall for them

In our areas, as things stand, no one is befitting my vote but things could change

Didn't you say that you're a lifelong Tory voter?
Did you vote for them 4 times since 2010 despite feeling like this?

Ffs, could you possibly be more ageist? Those people of whom 95% didn’t go to university, the majority of whom are homeowners, have paid tax since they were teenagers and most continue to do so. Obesity rates are higher in just about every other age group - 30% of over 65s are.
