"Women should be deprived of healthcare" - Mr Gribbin, of Reform

As Reform (apparently) inspires many to join its hallowed leagues, these lovely comments from a Reform candidate are sure to inspire many of us -

"Men pay 80% of tax – women spend 80% of tax revenue. On aggregate as a group you only take from society.
"Less complaining please from the 'sponging gender'."
He added that women are "subsidised by men to merely breath (sic)".
In January 2022 he posted: "Men pay 80% of tax. Women take out 80% of expenditures.
"Square that inequality first by depriving women of healthcare until their life expectancies are the same as men, Fair’s fair."
In December 2021 he wrote female soldiers "almost made me wretch (sic)" and were a "total liability".

Oh and also - one must be neutral when faced with Hitler.

Reform UK rosette

Reform candidate said UK should have been neutral against Hitler

The party says the comments were not "endorsements" but "written with an eye to inconvenient perspectives".

Surely this is satire?

bombastix · 10/06/2024 15:03

Oh well. There will be some well meaning person to say that this doesn’t represent Reform but the reductive mindset is spot on; people who think that the 1960s ought never to have happened

Singleandproud · 10/06/2024 15:06

Oh well, I guess the very thin silver lining suggests that he does in deed know what a woman is. If we lost some of those equality areas we gained perhaps we would get our language back, no one wants to identify as a 'loser' gender.

Yes he does. Enough to be an arse. I hope Battle rejects him

IlFaitBeau · 10/06/2024 15:09

Mr Gribbin, was, in fact, emerged onto this world through the U bend of a certain ceramic device found in most modern toilets, so, I am afraid, he personally owes nothing to any woman - not even his own birth.

Can't even spell breathe properly 😂

IlFaitBeau · 10/06/2024 15:11

But worry not, Mr Farage has responded to his comments by saying they simply ran out of time to properly vet each candidate.

Another man that hates women, yippee

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 10/06/2024 15:18

Is he a satire candidate for the Dunning Kruger party? you know the ones - their election slogan is 'I'm too stupid to know how stupid I am.' That, or he's a plant to discredit Reform.

If he is genuine, then I'm not sure "I'm a stupid anti-semitic misogynistic ass and I'm not afraid to show it' is quite the election platform he thinks it is. Someone will vote for him, though.

Jaxhog · 10/06/2024 15:20

I'm not surprised at all. Have you read their manifesto? Say goodbye to the equality act!

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 10/06/2024 15:26

Mr Gribbin sounds like a character out of Dickens.

Alwaystired94 · 10/06/2024 15:30

ahh yes, i do love it when the far right show that their low opinion isn't just of POC and immigrants.

The Far Right is not safe for women. 'traditional Values' feck off.

If Reform don't deselect him they're endorsing his comments.

itsallfuntilsomeonelosesaneye · 10/06/2024 16:14

I am shocked, shocked I tell you that some people associated with Reform have deeply unpleasant views. Would never have guessed from the leadership of the party.

TheNoonBell · 10/06/2024 16:46

This was only shortly after many TV pundits were demanding the unvaccinated be denied medical care.

Okay, so if that’s the justification for the healthcare comment, what’s the justification for saying that female soldiers make him retch, that the UK should have been neutral towards Nazi Germany and that Vladimir Putin is great?

Zonder · 10/06/2024 17:38

As he has apologised and distanced himself from this comment now, obviously we should all accept that and vote for him. The Tories have shown us the way - someone says sorry and we immediately reward them. Unless they are Tory / black / a woman. Then we must hold it against them forever and make them a pariah.

And there's BBC leading with the Hitler thing rather than the swipe at half the population, obviously 🙄

Meetingofminds · 10/06/2024 18:06

I can not take that ridiculous comment seriously, and what is a Tate disciple doing running for any political party.

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 10/06/2024 18:07

Can’t change being a cunt.

I'm not justifying anything. I was just saying that plenty of people were calling for medical care to be withdrawn from marginalised groups around that time. Very few people complained when the unvaxed were being openly demonised which I find disgusting so thought I would jog people's memories about that hateful time.

I wish the MSM would say this too.

BIossomtoes · 10/06/2024 18:59

I bet there are more like him too. Repulsive creature.

GeneralPeter · 10/06/2024 19:17

depriv[e] women of healthcare until their life expectancies are the same as men

Clearly, he's an idiot.

But he does a good job illustrating the flaw in using unequal outcomes to prove unfairness. Once you start noticing this you will see it everywhere.
