Can we have a General Election Advent Calendar?

I'm way too excited about the General Election and would like an Advent Calendar to count down the days

Can we make a mumsnet one?

Pehaps each day we could have a thread about one great conservative government gaff of the last 14 years, to reminds us of why we will be so glad to get to the big day.

The way they are going the Conservative Party might be able to provide us with gaffe of the day without us having to look back.

Very true. In that respect, the National Service thing was the gift that kept on giving. We were dumbfounded for much of the day.

Totally out shadowed the accidental sending of the email to senior Tory MPs which accused them of not doing enough work. which I think was the same day.

It’s a great idea! It’s only 5 cock ups per PM if you stick with the normal layout.
It’s actually debatable that National Service was a gaffe. However batshit and unplanned, it takes people’s minds off their record.

The only trouble is they can be quite painful memories. They are usually harming others rather than themselves.

Very true. Hadn't thought about that.

I feel like Christmas is coming and it's really hard to wait. I haven't felt like this for decades years.

I enjoyed this video of James O'Brien taking the mickey out of Steve Baker.

That was definitely a high point for me.

I’ve just seen a report that puts Labour only 12 points ahead😟

ThankYouAgainAgain · 28/05/2024 21:09

Blimey, don't look at that again.

FT reporting 21 point lead.

Gawd I wish this election would just happen tomorrow.

Which report was that? I haven't seen anything anywhere near as close.

Arse, have a look at the people who run that polling company. Might comfort you a little!

I'm quite tempted to just stay awake reading MN until the election actually happens, but I don't think that would be a good idea.
