We are still trying to trace survivors and relatives of those who died in the worst civilian disaster of the 2nd World War. Do you know anyone in your family who was involved?
It was such an horrific event and kept secret at the time, so most people don't know that family members were involved. So please ask around when you are talking to elderly aunts and grandparents.
We are also desperately trying to raise another £100,000 in order to erect a fitting memorial to this tragedy, with a full story about what really happened on it. If anybody knows who to approach for some funds please let me know.
Most of the surivors are in their upper 70;s, 80's and 90's so time is not on their side, hence the need to raise this money quickly.
So if you know any East Enders or people connected with the East End that might be able to help with some donations please let me know. Thanks
