In setting up my family tree, I have just come across a photo/postcard of a reletive who was a POW.

I am now trying to find out what happened to him.

The picture shows a group of POW's unpacking Red Cross crates/parcels infront of a row of wooden huts.

On the back it is written out like a postcard.
On the right side it gives the address where it was to be sent and on the left it reads;

GEBUHRENFREI

NAME: G BORRETT 005
1 KOF B.A.B 20
HEYDEBRECK 0/55
GERMANY

It then has a red official stamp over it which is a crown and the words PASSED P.W.341

I think G Borrett is my Greatgrandmothers brother, George Henry Borrett born 4/8/1917.
I can't find a marriage or a death certificate for him, so I am not sure if he got out or died while in the camp.

If anyone cant help with any information, I would be very grateful.

Thanks.

Hi,

This is such an old thread but I thought it might be worth trying! This man is my Grandmothers brother so we may well be related! I am sure by now that you have more information but couldn't resist messaging!

Best wishes,

Stella
