Edersley?

Hi,

I'm trying to do a bit of research and have been told the name Edersley (in relation to my family) but have not seen it written down.

When I type it into search engines I have absolutely no luck and I just wondered if anyone had heard of this name or knows if it should be spelled differently. I've tried variations too, to no avail (Ethersley etc.). I'm sure the name must exist but the only hits on google are completely useless.

or Alderley or Elderslie as a place name.

There's a possible connection with Solihull but it's not necessarily where the name originated.

I'm up in Scotland so am relying on the internet for information.

Have never come across the variation Edgerly before, so will give that a try!
