Tracing Irish relatives who were adopted

Has anyone used this service in their research? FAQsTusla - Child and Family Agency It's free to use and you don't have to live in the ROI. Just thought I'd post the link in case anyone is interested in tracing parents given up under the mother and baby/institutional homes system. There's also a process in NI, though access is decided on a case by case basis.

The Irish authorities took their time 🙄
Adopted people in the UK had a right to get their birth records in November 1975 but in Ireland it took until October 2022, a mere 47 years for Irish adoptees to get their records.

Was it your DH who was adopted or his parent, @Banjas? This law allows the children of a deceased Irish-born parent to access their records. I'm not sure if GB allows that, though I vaguely remember the Cameron govt talking about it.
