Slim chance, but I was hoping there might be someone on this board who understands the abbreviations used on WW1 pensions ledgers and knew what the notes above the date 1-10-37 on the attached image might mean?
The card belongs to a somewhat nefarious ancestor who used several different aliases to conceal a criminal history. He appears to have stuck with this, his enlistment name, for several years after the war, after which he drops off a records cliff with the exception of this ledger.
There is a death registration under this name for a gentleman of the right age who died on 8 September 1937 so was wondering (clinging to a desperate hope, really) if the closeness of these dates is more than a coincidence.
