Help deciphering cause of death

Can anyone work out the cause of death beneath “sudden death” please? She was only 28.
Also, the whole digital image for this from the GRO site was slanted, with possible words missed from the bottom - as you can see from the inclusion of some of the entry above mine. Is there a way I can enquire with them to query this order?
Many thanks

Ruptured a blood vessel

MBappse · 08/02/2024 23:37

Yes... ruptured a blood vessel

SingaporeSlinky · 08/02/2024 23:44

Ah thanks, I was staring at it for ages!
Doesn’t seem to give much info considering it came from a coroner’s report. A bit vague maybe? Why would a 28 year old have a ruptured blood vessel that causes sudden death i wonder.

How long ago was the death?

SingaporeSlinky · 08/02/2024 23:48

It was in 1840s

Could be a stroke or an accident that led to internal bleeding?

CharlesChickens · 08/02/2024 23:52

A relative of mine died from a brain haemorrhage at 26 , so she may have had a ruptured vessel in her brain, abdomen etc due to an abnormality possibly ?

SabbatWheel · 08/02/2024 23:59

Yes probably a brain haemorrhage or aortic aneurysm or something similar.

Look it up on British newspapers online. Think you get the first few page views free. If you can’t get on without signing up, PM me the name and place and I’ll look it up (I have a subscription.)

It was in 1840s

In those days the cause of death was often no more than a guess.

Mollymalone123 · 09/02/2024 00:40

I would think an aa.aortic aneurysm.

SingaporeSlinky · 09/02/2024 08:06

@HomeEdMom you mean look up her name in the newspapers? I have tried but can’t find anything around that date for her or her husband. Will keep looking.

HomeEdMom · 09/02/2024 08:44

Yes exactly. I’ve found a couple of inquest reports that way.

SingaporeSlinky · 09/02/2024 09:37

@HomeEdMom I exhausted my free ones ages ago but I have tried searching on Find My Past (well the previews anyway, my subscription has expired). Would every report the coroner did be included? I may have to manually search through, but looking for her surname, nothing has come up for the year she died.

I don’t know. But I’ve found BNA an excellent source and it’s helped me extend my family tree as well as fill in some details like the ones you’re looking for. I’m a genealogy nerd and happy to search on your behalf — but understand if you’d rather not reveal the details you’re looking for.

Maybe the badger did it?
