Can’t work out what I’ve done wrong!

So this has happened on occasion before as well as today and I haven’t been able to work out what I’ve done!

So today I listed numerous siblings of a relative onto my tree, with both biological parents showing, and I’ve just gone in and viewed them and they all have ‘half sibling’ on the info page!

How do I edit this back to sibling?
I find Ancestry really not very user friendly!
Or is it just me 😬😩

Is it a private tree, or could somebody else be messing with it?

I didn’t think of that but it’s public.

But I don’t know that anyone would do that.
Im pretty sure it will have been something I pressed 😂 - I just can’t work out what!

This happened to me! I think (and I'm not 100% certain as it was a while ago!) that I had to go to each sibling's individual profile and re-add their parents.

It annoyingly keeps sending me hints for people I already have so when I click ‘yes that’s them’, it doubles up on my tree 🤔

I solved the problem - deleted them all and going to start again tomorrow!

This sometimes happens when I’ve accepted hints from other trees, I end up with duplicated siblings and can’t work out why. You need to go to the pencil icon top right, and click edit relationships, then you can choose ‘preferred parent’ if there are step parents involved etc. Or just delete anything that’s wrong and re add them.

Best to figure this out now rather than once you’ve populated people with census, birth, marriage records etc because you’d have to do all that again.

I don’t know enough about making the tree really. So might just people I definitely know about without accepting hints.
