Any clue on what this occupation is? He was a retired army musician and lived in Tower Hamlets, so it could be “musician / Tower Hamlets [something]”

Sorry I am confused. Isn't the occupation retired army musician?! Could that last word be / another place name? I can't make out the letters at all.

Yes, it's "musician V Towr Haml malitia" probably translates to volunteer, Tower Hamlets militia - there's some interesting articles on TH Militia if you Google it.
