Does anyone use MyTrees.com?

Hi all, I have just done a totally random online search for two unusual surnames that I have been looking for, and a marriage between them has been thrown up on this website. It seems free to join, but I haven't heard of it before, and I'm not sure whether it is UK based or mainly people in the USA.

Does anyone have any advice/info about the website? Not sure whether to join or not.

Never heard of it - just had a look. My initial thoughts are STEER WELL CLEAR. Their "recently added databases" are random info added by other users. It is purely a way of creating your tree but does not have its own records or access to others. It looks really amateur, to be honest.

My advice would be to download the free version of something like Roots Magic www.rootsmagic.com/try. Or use Ancestry to build your tree with a basic guest account.

Thanks @IkBenDeMol - that is pretty much what I suspected. Although I wouldn't mind a sneaky peek at the whole tree of the person I stumbled on who is in someone's tree on there. 😂

I've done quite a lot of research already, and am now wading my way through Buckinghamshire / Oxfordshire borders parish records in the early 1700's. They didn't half move from village to village a lot.
