Anyone have an account with Fold3.com?

I have a relative who’s apparently received a military pension and I need to find out more, however I don’t want to sign up for a paid account for this one guy (even if I can cancel before the trial ends, I’m wary that I forget).
Can anyone help? Or recommend a free site?
