Greek Genealogy Records

I'm helping a distant cousin find her father and I'm absolutely clueless as to where to find Greek records. Ancestry isn't good for Greek heritage and familysearch.org isn't throwing back any info either. This cousin is UK born but her father seems to come from Ikaria.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I think the issue with Greek records are that they are... well.. in Greek.

Even if you don't speak French or German or Italian you can transcribe Giuseppe Rossi or Hans Schmidt. You can't do that with Greek as it's an entirely different alphabet.

This is a useful website with the basic places to look

guides.slsa.sa.gov.au/c.php?g=410334&p=2794997

But to get anywhere deeper into Greek genealogy you're really going to need a Greek speaker/reader.
