Quarter sessions records?

I've found a (fairly recent) relative who was given 3 years probation at the East Sussex Quarter Sessions in 1956.
Is there any way of accessing the court records to obtain further details?

Just to say the person is now deceased and no close relatives

The records are probably at The Keep, which is the county archive. You would probably have to come and search in person though (it's on the outskirts of Brighton), assuming records that recent are made public. There's an email address you can use to find out what records they have and arrange access. If not there, they can undoubtedly signpost for you.

or if you' could search the newspapers for the court reports for that year and date. The newspaper archive is online and available at many local libraries free of charge
