What's the best way to cross reference different DNA matches.
DH has just got his results back and both he and I are clueless.
Does Ancestry do both mother and father's line ?
He's adopted.

Yes it does both. You can also upload your results to Gedmatch, FTDNA and my heritage for free. This will give you more matches.

What are his closest matches so far?

DNA painter is a useful tool to look at likelihoods of relationship matches. There is so much advice and tools on there to help.
