Birth certificate copy

This is only loosely related to family history, sorry. I am starting the process of applying for an Irish passport and it needs a long form birth certificate for me and my Irish father (England and Northern Ireland respectively). Neither of us has has one, is it possible to get replacements? I don’t think I ever had a long form one, I’ve certainly never seen it.

Make sure you use the gov.uk site as there are other sites that offer a certificate service and look just as official but charge more .
