Finding birth records from Antigua 1878

Does anyone know how to do this? I am trying to trace a relative who I think was born in Antigua in 1878. He was a seamen and married a woman from Cardiff. Another possibility would be merchant navy records, but I can’t find any trace.

No experience in that part of the world myself, but I googled 'Antigua family history' and quite a few links to useful websites came up. Best of luck.
It is also possible that he may have been born on board a ship bound for Antigua, but no idea where to start with that one!

Ah - yes I do! National Archives has information about births marriages and deaths on board British ships.
