Hi there,
My estranged dad is from Egypt, and I know the name of his town in Cairo (he no longer lives there) - is there a way to trace whether any of my relatives still live there? Also, could I trace back generations of my family (we have a VERY common surname) in the same way as you can trace back generations in this country?
Sorry, I realise I should just be googling this myself but I don't know where to start, or even whether to bother, so any pearls of MN wisdom would be much appreciated.
