Anyone traced Irish ancestors using Ancestry.com?

I really want to start researching my family tree (UK, Irish, German) and I'm thinking of subscribing to Ancestry as I've read they also hold Irish records and was wondering if anyone has used that particular archive and if it was any good?

Ive just started, cant find much because alot was destroyed in a fire and you have to see the records in person
