Anyone running Sage on a Mac?

I am just in the process of buying Sage accounting but of course this doesn't run on a mac without boot camp or parallels. There seem to be many options to do it but this isn't something I know a huge amount about and wondered if anyone had btdt - also wondering if it is going to slow my machine hugely.

Or would you recommend getting a pc to run Sage instead of faffing with my previous mac lol

Thanks

I use a mac at home but have a pc laptop to run sage on, we looked at all the different options and my OH is a computer geek still we couldn't get the functionality we wanted right.

Sage is great but it's about time that they actually put the work in to make it Mac compatible.

Thanks for that - I'll stick with the pc then, it sounds like its not worth the hassle and I really am not known for my patience!

I agree they need to make it Mac compatible especially as Macs are becoming far more popular than they were.

If you use Bootcamp then your Mac basically turns into a "proper" Windows PC when you want it to and it "should" be able to run anything without any problems.

The downside is that you need to buy a copy of Windows, that's still cheaper than a whole other laptop though.

Parallels is a way of getting your Mac to pretend to be a PC while it's still being a Mac, this is slower than just having it be a PC and can be more complicated and somewhat unreliable with some things.

So even if Sage is very fussy you should be able to get away with Bootcamp, and Mac's make very find PCs indeed.
