How do you do the 'tinyurl' thing in twitter?

I really don't think I'm that daft, but I just can't figure out how to do links and pics in twitter. I'm using tweetdeck on iphone and mac if that makes a difference.

You need to go to tinyurl.com and type in the long one, it gives you a short one, you copy and paste.

Not sure if you can do it directly from twitter, don't think so but I am not a major tweeter, just read other people's!

Um.. I have actually done this, let me check...

Ok. You log in to twitpic.com with your twitter username/password, you can upload photos and it'll give you a url for it, C&P again.

If you're using Tweetdeck, it'll do it for you.

If you look at the side of the box you type your tweets in, there should be a box to check that says 'Auto Shorten Urls' If you have that ticked it'll do it after you type, or C&P an address into the box.

Although that will probably work with the Mac (I've got Tweetdeck on my laptop) but I don't know about the IPhone version...
