...and if so, are they kids' games or would someone more grownup appreciate them? I'm thinking if they're in the same league as Professor Layton (for example), I wouold buy someone as a present.

Any opinions? Thanks!

I loved the professor Layton games and have just bought the first zelda game - there is a shop locally with a very knowledgable manager and he said I would enjoy it (he's not been wrong so far).

I haven't started it yet. I have the Scribblenauts game and Drawn to life games too which I have really enjoyed so far.

I like them. There is more exploring and flighting than Prof Layton and less puzzles. But still some puzzles.

I've only got the first Zelda one and I am stuck on it. If anyone can tell me how to escape from the cave bit where you run out of energy if you're not in a purple space for too long? Its been ages since I played it, I think I'm meant to be getting something from the cave before getting out, can't rememeber what it is but I can't get to it.

The DS ones are awful compared to the older ones. And dare call them kiddy again and I'll have to choke you with all your casual games. Force them down your throat one by one...

I really liked the first Zelda one on the DS, am hoping to get the new one at some point. The 'puzzle' element isn't like professor layton's 'How can you measure out 1 litre with 5 and 3 litre jugs?' type thing though. More about how you get to the key on the other side of the chasm while avoiding the patrolling killer robots.

Also, yes, you will need to fight so there is some button-mashing/mad stylus-jabbing there too.

Gothdetective - aren't there about a dozen levels in that cave?! your best bet is to look at the walkthrough on IGN or somewhere...
