How can I stop laptop from loading mumsnet?

OK this may sound silly. I have noticed that I've been spending more and more time on this site and as much as I love it, I need to draw the line.

I don't seem to be able to say 'just one hour and that's it', it just doesn't work. Mainly because the other work I should be doing is on the same computer, so I just get distracted so easily.

I know there's a way to 'ban' websites on computers and I looked this up (which was tools > internet options > security > restricted sites) but when I did this, mumsnet.com still loads, the only difference is I can't see any posters' names!!!

Is there a proper way that works?

Someone please help...

I think you can request mumsnet to ban you.

Well, if you use Firefox, there an add-on called Leechblock and from the description:

"All you need to do is specify which sites to block and when to block them.

You can specify up to six sets of sites to block, with different times and days for each set."

it might do what you want. When I was hunting for it, I came across something else called PageAddict (which just recorded usage) but that's more for Geeky types to play with than actually limit distractions!

Good luck - I might have to use Leechblock myself...
