nokia n97 mini probs with wifi - help!

so, i got my lovly new phone yesterday, purposely didnt get internet added onto contract, as i thought I would just use my home wireless internet - wont be using it out and about, just at home when someone else is using the laptop!

BUT it doesnt stay connected for more than a minute - then reverts back to contract wap, which I'll be getting charged for obv.

Home internet is set as 1st priority, but still doesnt stay connected. Since a lot of the apps etc require connection to the internet, id really like to get the wifi to stay connected permanantly. On my blackberry, it connected as soon as I entered my house .

Any ideas?!

bump - sorry, cannot help (interested in the N97 mini myself, but not if it does that!)

cheers, i actually got it sorted - i went into connectivity in settings, deleted the contract wap and PAYG wap access points so it has no choice but to connect via my wifi.
It didnt work at first, the apps that require internet connection wouldnt even open, but I restored factory settings, and turned the phone off and on again, my wifi connection was still set up on there, and everything works fine now. Permanently connected to wifi.

I reckon its just a way of charging you a fortune when you dont realise its doing it!

A bit of a shot in the dark but have you tried updating the firmware on the router?

Also when you do connect are you able to do things on the internet, even if only for a minute?

Finally what router do you have? There might be some known problems out there.
