lol at needing hello kitty desperatly!

it looks ok to me, you could always call the number and see if you feel happy with the way they answer. A lot of smaller online traders also list on ebay so you could search for your item there too, then you could see feedback.

God my DD would love that It looks ok. They padlock is in the corner and you can pay with paypal. Not that I know much but I order random stuff all the time from sites and it's always been ok so far.

LynetteScavo · 17/11/2009 13:16

I order virtually everything on line, and I think this site would be OK. I find smaller sites provide better service than high street stores alot of the time.

mrspnut · 17/11/2009 13:20

I would, I looked up the web address and it has been registered for nearly 8 years and has a uk address attached to it.

It looks genuine to me and not a fly by night enterprise.

Whois searches have saved me making a mistake in the past - websites registered in china or that have just been set up are usually scams imo.

Thanks all

at needing HK desperately, but YKWIM!

Have been waiting for it to come into stock at Argos FOREVER

Finally spoke to a human in customer services at Argos and it's unlikely they're getting it back in

DD1 would LOVE it and it's going to be her Christmas present

like mrspnut I did a lookup (you can check .uk domains at either www.nic.uk or www.keepyour.co.uk which are both run by Nominet, the UK domain authority). Details showed the same address as shown on the "about us" page on the website.

Domain name:
katzwhiskas.co.uk

Registrant:
NYSC

Registrant type:
UK Sole Trader

Registrant address:
8 Rawcliffe Avenue
York
YO30 5QD
United Kingdom

Relevant dates:
Registered on: 04-Feb-2002
Renewal date: 04-Feb-2010
Last updated: 02-Mar-2009

Registration status:
Registered until renewal date.

Name servers:
ns1.maximumasp.com
ns2.maximumasp.com

WHOIS lookup made at 15:28:41 17-Nov-2009

If a domain is .com .net .org or .info you'd need to search elsewhere (generally I'd suggest starting at www.internic.net )

One thing to watch out for, however, is where a stupid website designer has put the registered address as their own (designer) address. Some do this to 'hold to ransom' the real business. It's unprofessional, in my view, to do this, as well as there being a 30 quid fee for making changes at Nominet (and sure enough, it's rarely the damn website designer who has to fork out the fee to show the correct business details).

They accept PP too, so that's good!
