Not sure I know what you mean tbh! Can't you do something with Googlemaps?

stainesmassif · 01/11/2009 20:20

no, it's my husband, he has to drive a lot with his job and wants to plan routes via postcodes.

you can buy these maps, but they are v expensive. apparently.

he's looking for one on line now, and i want him to come downstairs and watch the x factor with me!

Ah! I see. Never heard of them. But then, thankfully it's not my job to get us around London. DH has been doing it for 20 years, so he knows where he's going! (And in an emergency, he has satnav!)

southeastastra · 01/11/2009 20:28

buy them? you can just use google maps for free

bran · 01/11/2009 20:29

www.streetmap.co.uk will map a postcode for you, it doesn't have a route planner though.

RustyBear · 01/11/2009 20:34

DH had to create a map from postcodes for work a while ago - he used this (or something like it) Don't know if it's any use; it's not actually a map, just the data.

DreamsInBinary · 01/11/2009 20:43

Any good?

stainesmassif · 01/11/2009 20:44

dh is here now and has directed me to an example of the london one here - it turns out that you can get one for london, he is after one for the outskirts - slough, guildford etc.
Rusty - maybe we can ask your dh to create one for us!!!

ah - DIB - x post. Now can you find similar for outside London?!

Any better?

Click on the + on the left hand side and it drills down into, e.g., CF1 rather than CF. Not massively clear, though.

stainesmassif · 02/11/2009 19:27

wow. DIB - looks like the business to me. dh just got home, will advise of his reaction. thank you!!

stainesmassif · 04/11/2009 20:18

DIP - it does seem to be what he's looking for - now he's coming up with a 'project' for me, mapping work locations onto your map. lucky me!
